Starting December 2024, the Elk Grove Special Waste Collection Center will no longer accept Styrofoam, also known as expanded polystyrene (EPS). This change aligns with California’s efforts to reduce single-use plastics. Recycling EPS has become too costly, and the nearest facility in Lodi has closed. Locate an alternate EPS recycler, dispose of EPS in your curbside garbage cart or through Republic Services’ bulky waste pickup.
